Metal inert gas welding (MIG) forms an electric arc between a wire electrode and a piece of metal. This heats the metal, which causes it to melt and join. In this class on MIG welding, you’ll participate in a welding safety discussion and receive equipment orientation. This will include assembly and setup. Afterwards, you will get hands-on experience with welding.
Flux core class
Flux core welding is a type of arc welding that uses a continuously-fed consumable electrode. This method is also referred to as dual-shielded or self-shielded welding. In this class, you’ll participate in a welding safety discussion, learn how to assemble and set up the equipment and then enjoy a hands-on welding experience.
Stick welding class
Shielded metal arc welding, also called stick welding, is a manual arc welding process. It involves a consumable electrode coated in flux. Participants in this class will experience a safety discussion and instruction in the assembly and setup of equipment, followed by hands-on stick welding experience.
Tungsten arc welding, or gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) uses a tungsten electrode to produce the arc. Students in this class will participate in a short welding safety discussion followed by orientation to the machinery. The rest of the class time will be devoted to hands-on welding experiences.
